"Possibly the biggest Soul/R&B Hit of 2014"
The above words are a direct quote from Solar Radio's popular DJ and Soul Music Expert, Mick O'donell in reference to the romantic ballad, "Baby You Know U'm Right" by The Soul Hustlers (LISTEN BELOW). The song literally swept the UK and Europe by storm in the spring of 2014 after closely following the group's very first international hit song ever, "Valentine Love". As the touring and recording musicians for the award winning R&B band "Maze", Carl Wheeler, Vance Taylor, Jubu, Calvin Napper, and Larry Kimpel had been inspired to write and produce songs that are the next level of the sound that they have re-created night after night for the last decade + while on stage with "Maze". And to that end, the five musical brothers went into the recording studio and wrote and produced an album entitled "Refried & Funkafied". One of the things that makes this music sp very different is that the majority of the songs we're penned spontaneously in the recording studio as the tapes were rolling.
To be part of a legendary band like "Maze" would be accomplishment enough for most musicians. However that's not the case for these five who travel, eat, sleep, laugh and performs together with Maze at least eighty-five days out of every year. "We all knew that it was time to make some musical magic of our very own" says Larry.
Besides touring and recording with Crooner Frankie Beverly, the Soul Hustler's collective resume is a smorgasbord of "A" List recording artists across many styles and musical genres.
